Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

ASSALAMUALAIKUM W.B.T

hi.. this week ive got a test.. yeah.. the ultiboard one..only one lecture and then TEST!!! can u imagine that?
with my lappy that can install the MULTISIM AND ULTIBORD ~ really a headache for me!!!
but thanks to my friend, i can practice using it by borrowing their lappy for a while..
i will not blogging bout my test but i will share bout ULTIBOARD!!

WHAT IS NI ULTIBOARD??

an electronic Printed Circuit Board Layout program which is part of a suite of circuit design
programs, along with NI Multisim. One of its major features is the Real Time Design Rule Check,
a feature that was only offered on expensive work stations in the days when it was introduced.
ULTIboard was originally created by a company named Ultimate Teachnology, which is
now a subsidiary of National Instruments. Ultiboard includes a 3D PCB viewing mode, as well
as integrated import and export features to the Shematic Capture and Simulation software in
              the suite, Multisim.

BENEFITS OF NI ULTIBOARD

  1. Easy-to-Use Design Environment

The NI Ultiboard interface enables efficient layout and routing of PCB designs. Integration with NI   Multisim allows seamless transfer of schematics to layout. The customizable environment ensures accessibility to desired features for immediate productivity. Tools such as the spreadsheet view, toolbox and design wizards easily manage, control and define any board layout.
Part placement and copper routes are optimized to either allow full control for precise definition of critical parts or automation for quick design completion.   The 3D preview renders a completed, populated board to gain a virtual perspective before production. Ultiboard exports and produces industry standard format such as Gerber and DXF to take a final, optimized board to prototype and manufacture.
The Ultiboard product editions (Full, Power Pro) provide a complete set of tools for professional PCB layout:
  • Intuitive, user-friendly design environment
  • Integrated spreadsheet view for managing design constraints, part placement, and copper routing
  • Easy-to-use design tools optimized for speed or precise control
  • Export to industry standard file formats such as Gerber and DXF for prototype and manufacturing

2.    Layout and Routing

Ultiboard features intuitive tools for manual and automated part placement and routing. These tools combine to reduce the effort and time needed to complete repetitive tasks in PCB design. The flexble push-and-shove environment combined with placement processes  ensure quick layout. Trace placement in Ultiboard offers flexibility to quickly and efficiently adjust based on the degree of design complexity.
  • Quickly find and place components with Pick-and-Place and Component Sequencer functionality
  • Utilize the follow-me router and connection machine for immediate input and suggestion to any trace placement
  • Access the speed and efficiency of the advanced Autoplace and Autoroute tools
  • Use the autorouting functionality of former Electronics Workbench Ultiroute, which is now included in NI Ultiboard

3. Integrated Design

Seamless integration with NI Multisim allows easy transfer of schematics to layout to quickly define a board for manufacture. Cross-probing ensures any landpattern can be selected at board level to simultaneously highlight the Multisim schematic counterpart. Forward and back annotation ensures that changes made at either the schematic or layout level are always reflected in both versions of a design. The overall integrated experience is paramount in providing an easy and quick flow from design and validation in Multisim to final prototype with Ultiboard.
  • Easily transfer schematics to layout with seamless integration with NI Multisim
  • Cross-probe NI Multisim schematics to immediately gain insight on how to design your PCB
  • Forward and back annotate any changes made to the design

4. Streamlined Design Flow

Move from concept to manufacturing seamlessly within an integrated tool-chain, with NI Multisim capture and simulation, NI Ultiboard layout and NI LabVIEW test and measurement.

ok, now lets take a look on

HOW TO USE NI ULTIBOARD

first,
lets watch this video
:D

I hope u can understand as much as i can
:)

in the short way

Assume that i have already transferred a completed schematic to a PCB for layout and are now in a review cycle, making changes to the original schematic that need to be reflected in the PCB layout. Assume that i have received an engineering change order (ECO) requiring that i had change the footprint of R1 from RES0.5 to RES0.25. i will change the footprint associated with this resistor then forward annotate the change to Ultiboard.
  1. From within Multisim select resistor R1 on the schematic.
  2. Double-click on the component and click on the Edit Footprint button.
  3. Click on the Select from Database button.
  4. From within the Select a Footprint dialog box, select the RES0.25 footprint (as pictured in Figure 1 below). Click on the Select button.
  5. Click on the OK button to save the changes.

Figure 1: Footprint Change
   6.   Click on the OK button to exit the component properties dialog box.

The resistor R1 now has the RES0.25 footprint rather than the default RED0.5 footprint.
To forward annotate this change to Ultiboard:
  1. In Multisim select Transfer >> Forward Annotate to Ultiboard
  2. In the Save-As dialog box, save the annotated netlist to the same name as the layout filename (SpeechFilter.ewnet). Click the Save button.
  3. Ultiboard will warn you that you are replacing the existing Ultiboard netlist with this new version and that this change cannot be undone. Click OK.
  4. In the Default Track Width and Clearance dialog box select the desired clearance and width settings. Click OK.
  5. Ultiboard informs you of the specific netlist changes (in this case the new resistor). Click OK.
The new resistor has been transferred to the original layout. Notice that the change has pulled the resistor R1 out of the board outline (as shown in Figure 2 below). This is to indicate that the component has been replaced and must now be placed and routed into the design.

Figure 2: Completed Forward Annotation
 easy right?
haha ^^
thats why i love this class..
coz i can play along with all the instruments..

lets see another video so that we can LEARN MORE, UNDERSTAND MORE

p/s: in my opinion. this video is more helpful..how do u think?
:D

REMEMBER!!!!

Forward annotation is a critical step in the design cycle and is the main process to ammend PCB layouts with fixes to errors that were discovered through prototype testing. With Multisim's tight integration to Ultiboard, a simple and easy-to-use procedure ensures that all updates to a schematic are automatically realized in PCB layouts

in my opinion, multisim is easier than ultiboard..haha
but its ok,
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!!
AJA AJA HWAITING!!
GAMBATTE KUDASAI!!

thats all from me :)
wishing u all SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILADHA!!
and may Allah bless us all

p/s : cant wait to go home.. :)
really miss my family lorh..but i need to gain the success first..pray for me ya :)

LIFE GOES ON

And in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It is the life in your years.

                                                            -Abraham Lincoln-

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Assalamualaikum and a very good day :)

hi,long time no see.. :D
my class today is at 10.00 - 12.00 noon. no class after that, one class only for today. do you know how happy i am?
haha...

reached early to campus coz its my habit and at the same time i wanna find the Electronic Workshop.
Thanks to Zinc, i can find it easily :)

Today for electronic system engineering class, Dr.Kamal give a short briefing about how to blog wisely. its really help me a lot .. :)

im also agree with Dr.Kamal about blogging. He said that we can improve our English and by doing this also we can understand about that topic.. make it CONSIZE & COMPREHENSIVE..
Thank you Dr.Kamal.. i really appreaciate it .. gomawo~

yeorobun,
   I'm introducing u, DR.KAMAL!!
:)

the sheets including notes provided by Dr.Kamal :)
                                                                         informative!!!

Then, En.Ridzuan continue to take over the class.. he's teaching on how to use the multisim 10.0 programme.

This is what i understand and hope u can understand it too :D

                                                     ABOUT MULTISIM

NI Multisim , formerly known as MultiSIM is an electronic shematic capture and simulation programme which is part of a suite of circuit design programme, along with NI Ultiboard.

Multisim originally created by a company named Electronics Workbench, which is now a division of National Instruments.

Multisim is one of the few circuit design programs to employ the original Barkeley. SPICE based software simulation.

Multisim includes microcontroller simulation , as well as integrated import and export features
to the Pinted Circuit Board layout software in the suite,NI Ultiboard.

Multisim is widely used in academia and industry for circuits education, electronic schematic design and SPICE simulation.

the picture above resembles the Multisim system ..where the picture below was taken during the class ..my work :)

                                                       HOW TO USE MULTISIM???

i've got a chance to provide this video so we can deeply understand what is Multisim all about~~~
and of course, how to work on it :D

this video is so eye-catching and easy to understand,,
hope we can take the benefit from this video :)

In the simpler words, steps to build a circuit using Multisim :

1. prepare all the components.
2. rearrange all the components according to its place.
3. joints all the components together
4. start stimulating :)

               # so easy like ABC!!

an extra information on how using the multisim, ultiboard and labview :)
i like it..really help me !!~

now, i will try my best to explain in more details on how to use Multisim :)
catch me up, and do correct me if i'm wrong..

assume the picture above as the question okay :)

STEP 1 : OPEN MULTISIM

Begin by drawing your schematic in Multisim environment.
              Select Start> All programs>National Instruments>Circuit Design Suit 11.0

STEP 2 : SELECT AND PLACINNG THE COMPONENT

dont worry, all components needed is already there. we just need to choose and place it accordingly.

STEP 3 : WIRE COMPONENTS AND SIMULATION SOURCE

STEP 4 : RUN SIMULATION

FINISH !!!!!! ~~~~~~ :)

During the class, there's one boy who helped me ..thanks a lot, i dont know his name actually because he's not my classmates yet he's my senior..we didnt have much time to formally adressed ourselves.. :( theres also an incident which i may not forget it..haha, when i'm busy building the circuit, his  friends accidentally hit my desk and the computer TURN OFF!! I was like.. WHAT??
on his friend behalf, he accompany me until the class ended even though he's hungry and wanna go to eat :)
Thanks to show me the way out when i'm stuck. gomawo ya ~ :)

When finishing this blog, im still trying to download the Multisim software so that i improve myself.. but the internet connection is somewhat jealous of me. =='_
haha. pray for me so that i can download the software easily :)

oh my, already asar!! *shocked
maybe everybody else just keep it simple but somehow i wanna give all my best in everything i do..(COMMITMENT)!! and i hope you can give me your full support so that i will never give up in my life.

i think i already fall in love with electronic system engineering.. even its not in my list..
:D
ssshhh. dont tell anyone ya ~

Thats all for now, thanks for reading my blog . will meet later A.S.A.P
haha..

Ganbatte kudasai to MYSELF and to MY READER !!!

The trouble with our times is that the future is not what it used to be

-Paul Valery-
French critic & poet (1871 - 1945)
____________________________________________________________________________________

hi, we meet again here. starting the class at 9 and had been given a booklet to be answered. But then, not all of us know how to answer it coz we, especially me didnt learnt bout it during our matriculation college even though we took the physics during that time. :D

alright, now i will brief it in such a simple way what En.Redzuan had thought me this morning.

                                                         RESISTOR

resistor is more typically known as a device having resistance to the passage of an electric current.
Resistors are "Passive Devices", that is they contain no source of power or amplification but only attenuate or reduce the voltage signal passing through them. This attenuation results in electrical energy being lost in the form of heat as the resistor resists the flow of electrons through it.
2 types of resistor which are :
  •          TH (through hole)
  •          SMD (surface mount device)
Function of resistor :
  • Resistor is used in a circuit to oppose an electric current by producing a voltage drop between its terminals in proportion to the current.
    • it works accordingly to ohm's law.
      .
Ohms Law: R = V / I (Resistance = Voltage / Current) (resistance measured in ohms) where: Voltage [V]= the energy lost across an component (voltage measured in volts). Current [I]  = the charge (electrons) flowing through an component (current measured
                            in   Amps).
HOW TO CALCULATE THE RESISTANCE AND RESISTOR COLOR CODE.
its is easy to calculate, thats why im only posting this picture because this pic full with info that i wanna type :)

HOW TO DETERMINE THE 1ST BAND?
  1. at the curve of resistor or;
  2. the 4th-3th gap longer than 1st-2nd gap
  3. if the gap is evenly distributed, look at the color of band, if there's gold or silver,it indicates that its the last band.then, you know which one is the first ine is it? :)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  1.  5th pink band indicates thats it is high stability in resistance.
  2. 6th band indicates that it precise on temperature.
  3. if the value of Resistor is more than maximum value or less than minimum value, it means that the resistor is out from its callibration (callibration resistor is out of range in simple words!! :))
  4. to get the precise reading ofresistor, the tolerance (4th band) cant be neither gold nor silver but it must be either in red or brown only.

a video which might help you coz it really helps me a lot. :)

HOW TO CALCULATE THE RESISTANCE USING MULTIMETER?

Remember!

  1. You can only test resistance when the device you're testing is not powered. Resistance testing works by poking a little voltage into the circuit and seeing how much current flows, its perfectly safe for any component but if its powered there is already voltage in the circuit, and you will get incorrect readings.
  2. You can only test a resistor before it has been soldered/inserted into a circuit. If you measure it in the circuit you will also be measuring everything connected to it. In some instances this is OK but I would say that in the vast majority it is not. If you try, you will get incorrect readings and that's worse than no reading at all.
  3. You can make sure your meter is working well by having a 'reference resistor' to test against. A 1% 1KΩ or 10KΩ resistor is perfect! Low batteries can make your multimeter wonky.
  4. Resistance is non-directional, you can switch probes and the reading will be the same.
  5. If you have a ranging meter (as most inexpensive ones are), you'll need to keep track of what range you are in. Otherwise, you will get strange readings, like OL or similar, or you may think you're in KΩ when really you're in MΩ. This is a big problem for beginners so be careful!
 Get into the mode
Look for an ohm (Ω) symbol, if its a ranging meter there will be a bunch of subdivided modes. If its auto-ranging there will be only one.

This meter has the Ω symbol and then 7 submodes, ranging from 200Ω to 2000MΩ (wow!)

This meter has the Ω symbol and then 5 submodes, ranging from 200Ω to 2MΩ

This meter has a multi-mode (you need to press a seperate MODE button to change between capacitor sense, diode test, resistor test and continuity!) It does not, however, have any numbered submodes, as it is auto-ranging

Ranging vs. Auto-ranging
As long as it works, it doesn't matter which type you have. But auto-ranging meters are a little slower.
Compare these two videos as I measure a 1KΩ resistor with an autoranging meter:
Which takes about 4 seconds to settle on a final value, and a 10KΩ resistor with a ranging meter:

Which gets the first significant digit instantly, the second digit after 1 second and the final digit after 2.
Expensive autoranging meters, like Fluke 73s, will be super fast so it's not a big deal, but if you have a $200 meter you're probably not reading this tutorial.
Ranges will almost always be something like 200Ω, 2KΩ, 20KΩ, 200KΩ, 2MΩ, etc. Why the 2s instead of 100, 1K, 10K etc.? Well, here's my guess.
Because the vast majority of resistors are 5%, the resistor values are 5% apart (or so). For example, the "standard" 5% values between 1K and 10K are:
1.0K, 1.1K, 1.2K, 1.3K, 1.5K, 1.6K, 1.8K, 2.0K, 2.2K, 2.4K, 2.7K, 3.0K, 3.3K, 3.6K, 3.9K, 4.3K, 4.7K, 5.1K, 5.6K, 6.2K, 6.8K, 7.5K, 8.2K, 9.1K
There are way more values between 1KΩ and 2KΩ than between 2KΩ and 3KΩ, etc. By picking 2KΩ as your max range, you get the best precision for the most probable values.

                                 :)

hi, welcome to my new world!!

before we start the touring, let me introduce a little bit bout myself :)
my name is ateqah
gonna turn 19 at this13 dec.. :D wohoo~
i'm an electronic system engineering student or known as Elecsys at UTM
anyone have heard bout that???!!!

due to the very long holiday, i'm ended up having a RUSTY BRAIN..!!
when the lecturer a.k.a Dr.Kamal asked what is the amplitude, voltage and whatsoever..my brain really 3x work hard to recall it back.. :'(
haiya! its really gives me a hard time lorh

to overcome this problem, haha.. now, i want to share bout it..its just a little bit bout electronic~~~
please anticipate it :)

Electronic systems are groupings of electronic circuits and components which are designed to accomplish one or more complex functions. Examples include telecommunication systems, computer systems, power distribution systems, radar systems, electronic music systems, and many others.

electronic..can u recognize type of element being used??

series circuit

so cute!!! i love this animations!!! DAE BAK!!

video to release stress!!!
lol~

                                                sinusoidal waveforms!!!

The amplitude or peak amplitude of a wave is a measure of how big its oscillation is. Amplitudes are always positive numbers (for example: 3.5, 1, 120) and are never negative (for example: -3.5, -1, -120). Amplitudes are positive because distance can only be greater than zero or equal to zero; negative distance does not exist.
The distance from the top of one peak to the bottom of another is called peak-to-peak amplitude. Another way to describe peak-to-peak amplitude is to say that it is the distance between the maximum positive value and the maximum negative value of a wave.

Frequency is the number of occurrences of a repeating event per unit time. It is also referred to as temporal frequency. The period is the duration of one cycle in a repeating event, so the period is the reciprocal of the frequency. For example, if a newborn baby's heart beats at a frequency of 120 times a minute, its period (the interval between beats) is half a second.
Period,T is the amount of time required for the object to complete one repetition of its motion.

                                   another example of electronic device....~~~~~
i bet all of u know what it is.. ~~~
                                                        :D

despite of all this learning, i also need to learn new languages .. the fourth language for me,, JAPANESE!!! coz now i'm studying under Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT)
malay is still the first for me, followed by english and korean .. hoping i can learn my fourth language very well..kekeke~
pray for me ya :)

now that i've put some oil at my brain.. its working very efficiently right now.
haha...lets take a break an watch some videos to furnish our live :) yohoo~
