IN THE TIME OF NEED

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

ASSALAMUALAIKUM W.B.T

hi.. this week ive got a test.. yeah.. the ultiboard one..only one lecture and then TEST!!! can u imagine that?
with my lappy that can install the MULTISIM AND ULTIBORD ~ really a headache for me!!!
but thanks to my friend, i can practice using it by borrowing their lappy for a while..
i will not blogging bout my test but i will share bout ULTIBOARD!!

WHAT IS NI ULTIBOARD??

an electronic Printed Circuit Board Layout program which is part of a suite of circuit design
programs, along with NI Multisim. One of its major features is the Real Time Design Rule Check,
a feature that was only offered on expensive work stations in the days when it was introduced.
ULTIboard was originally created by a company named Ultimate Teachnology, which is
now a subsidiary of National Instruments. Ultiboard includes a 3D PCB viewing mode, as well
as integrated import and export features to the Shematic Capture and Simulation software in
              the suite, Multisim.

BENEFITS OF NI ULTIBOARD

  1. Easy-to-Use Design Environment

The NI Ultiboard interface enables efficient layout and routing of PCB designs. Integration with NI   Multisim allows seamless transfer of schematics to layout. The customizable environment ensures accessibility to desired features for immediate productivity. Tools such as the spreadsheet view, toolbox and design wizards easily manage, control and define any board layout.
Part placement and copper routes are optimized to either allow full control for precise definition of critical parts or automation for quick design completion.   The 3D preview renders a completed, populated board to gain a virtual perspective before production. Ultiboard exports and produces industry standard format such as Gerber and DXF to take a final, optimized board to prototype and manufacture.
The Ultiboard product editions (Full, Power Pro) provide a complete set of tools for professional PCB layout:
  • Intuitive, user-friendly design environment
  • Integrated spreadsheet view for managing design constraints, part placement, and copper routing
  • Easy-to-use design tools optimized for speed or precise control
  • Export to industry standard file formats such as Gerber and DXF for prototype and manufacturing

2.    Layout and Routing

Ultiboard features intuitive tools for manual and automated part placement and routing. These tools combine to reduce the effort and time needed to complete repetitive tasks in PCB design. The flexble push-and-shove environment combined with placement processes  ensure quick layout. Trace placement in Ultiboard offers flexibility to quickly and efficiently adjust based on the degree of design complexity.
  • Quickly find and place components with Pick-and-Place and Component Sequencer functionality
  • Utilize the follow-me router and connection machine for immediate input and suggestion to any trace placement
  • Access the speed and efficiency of the advanced Autoplace and Autoroute tools
  • Use the autorouting functionality of former Electronics Workbench Ultiroute, which is now included in NI Ultiboard

3. Integrated Design

Seamless integration with NI Multisim allows easy transfer of schematics to layout to quickly define a board for manufacture. Cross-probing ensures any landpattern can be selected at board level to simultaneously highlight the Multisim schematic counterpart. Forward and back annotation ensures that changes made at either the schematic or layout level are always reflected in both versions of a design. The overall integrated experience is paramount in providing an easy and quick flow from design and validation in Multisim to final prototype with Ultiboard.
  • Easily transfer schematics to layout with seamless integration with NI Multisim
  • Cross-probe NI Multisim schematics to immediately gain insight on how to design your PCB
  • Forward and back annotate any changes made to the design

4. Streamlined Design Flow

Move from concept to manufacturing seamlessly within an integrated tool-chain, with NI Multisim capture and simulation, NI Ultiboard layout and NI LabVIEW test and measurement.

ok, now lets take a look on

HOW TO USE NI ULTIBOARD

first,
lets watch this video
:D

I hope u can understand as much as i can
:)

in the short way

Assume that i have already transferred a completed schematic to a PCB for layout and are now in a review cycle, making changes to the original schematic that need to be reflected in the PCB layout. Assume that i have received an engineering change order (ECO) requiring that i had change the footprint of R1 from RES0.5 to RES0.25. i will change the footprint associated with this resistor then forward annotate the change to Ultiboard.
  1. From within Multisim select resistor R1 on the schematic.
  2. Double-click on the component and click on the Edit Footprint button.
  3. Click on the Select from Database button.
  4. From within the Select a Footprint dialog box, select the RES0.25 footprint (as pictured in Figure 1 below). Click on the Select button.
  5. Click on the OK button to save the changes.

Figure 1: Footprint Change
   6.   Click on the OK button to exit the component properties dialog box.

The resistor R1 now has the RES0.25 footprint rather than the default RED0.5 footprint.
To forward annotate this change to Ultiboard:
  1. In Multisim select Transfer >> Forward Annotate to Ultiboard
  2. In the Save-As dialog box, save the annotated netlist to the same name as the layout filename (SpeechFilter.ewnet). Click the Save button.
  3. Ultiboard will warn you that you are replacing the existing Ultiboard netlist with this new version and that this change cannot be undone. Click OK.
  4. In the Default Track Width and Clearance dialog box select the desired clearance and width settings. Click OK.
  5. Ultiboard informs you of the specific netlist changes (in this case the new resistor). Click OK.
The new resistor has been transferred to the original layout. Notice that the change has pulled the resistor R1 out of the board outline (as shown in Figure 2 below). This is to indicate that the component has been replaced and must now be placed and routed into the design.

Figure 2: Completed Forward Annotation
 easy right?
haha ^^
thats why i love this class..
coz i can play along with all the instruments..

lets see another video so that we can LEARN MORE, UNDERSTAND MORE

p/s: in my opinion. this video is more helpful..how do u think?
:D

REMEMBER!!!!

Forward annotation is a critical step in the design cycle and is the main process to ammend PCB layouts with fixes to errors that were discovered through prototype testing. With Multisim's tight integration to Ultiboard, a simple and easy-to-use procedure ensures that all updates to a schematic are automatically realized in PCB layouts

in my opinion, multisim is easier than ultiboard..haha
but its ok,
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!!
AJA AJA HWAITING!!
GAMBATTE KUDASAI!!

thats all from me :)
wishing u all SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILADHA!!
and may Allah bless us all

p/s : cant wait to go home.. :)
really miss my family lorh..but i need to gain the success first..pray for me ya :)

LIFE GOES ON

And in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It is the life in your years.

                                                            -Abraham Lincoln-

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Assalamualaikum and a very good day :)

hi,long time no see.. :D
my class today is at 10.00 - 12.00 noon. no class after that, one class only for today. do you know how happy i am?
haha...

reached early to campus coz its my habit and at the same time i wanna find the Electronic Workshop.
Thanks to Zinc, i can find it easily :)

Today for electronic system engineering class, Dr.Kamal give a short briefing about how to blog wisely. its really help me a lot .. :)

im also agree with Dr.Kamal about blogging. He said that we can improve our English and by doing this also we can understand about that topic.. make it CONSIZE & COMPREHENSIVE..
Thank you Dr.Kamal.. i really appreaciate it .. gomawo~

yeorobun,
   I'm introducing u, DR.KAMAL!!
:)

the sheets including notes provided by Dr.Kamal :)
                                                                         informative!!!

Then, En.Ridzuan continue to take over the class.. he's teaching on how to use the multisim 10.0 programme.

This is what i understand and hope u can understand it too :D

                                                     ABOUT MULTISIM

NI Multisim , formerly known as MultiSIM is an electronic shematic capture and simulation programme which is part of a suite of circuit design programme, along with NI Ultiboard.

Multisim originally created by a company named Electronics Workbench, which is now a division of National Instruments.

Multisim is one of the few circuit design programs to employ the original Barkeley. SPICE based software simulation.

Multisim includes microcontroller simulation , as well as integrated import and export features
to the Pinted Circuit Board layout software in the suite,NI Ultiboard.

Multisim is widely used in academia and industry for circuits education, electronic schematic design and SPICE simulation.

the picture above resembles the Multisim system ..where the picture below was taken during the class ..my work :)

                                                       HOW TO USE MULTISIM???

i've got a chance to provide this video so we can deeply understand what is Multisim all about~~~
and of course, how to work on it :D

this video is so eye-catching and easy to understand,,
hope we can take the benefit from this video :)

In the simpler words, steps to build a circuit using Multisim :

1. prepare all the components.
2. rearrange all the components according to its place.
3. joints all the components together
4. start stimulating :)

               # so easy like ABC!!

an extra information on how using the multisim, ultiboard and labview :)
i like it..really help me !!~

now, i will try my best to explain in more details on how to use Multisim :)
catch me up, and do correct me if i'm wrong..

assume the picture above as the question okay :)

STEP 1 : OPEN MULTISIM

Begin by drawing your schematic in Multisim environment.
              Select Start> All programs>National Instruments>Circuit Design Suit 11.0

STEP 2 : SELECT AND PLACINNG THE COMPONENT

dont worry, all components needed is already there. we just need to choose and place it accordingly.

STEP 3 : WIRE COMPONENTS AND SIMULATION SOURCE

STEP 4 : RUN SIMULATION

FINISH !!!!!! ~~~~~~ :)

During the class, there's one boy who helped me ..thanks a lot, i dont know his name actually because he's not my classmates yet he's my senior..we didnt have much time to formally adressed ourselves.. :( theres also an incident which i may not forget it..haha, when i'm busy building the circuit, his  friends accidentally hit my desk and the computer TURN OFF!! I was like.. WHAT??
on his friend behalf, he accompany me until the class ended even though he's hungry and wanna go to eat :)
Thanks to show me the way out when i'm stuck. gomawo ya ~ :)

When finishing this blog, im still trying to download the Multisim software so that i improve myself.. but the internet connection is somewhat jealous of me. =='_
haha. pray for me so that i can download the software easily :)

oh my, already asar!! *shocked
maybe everybody else just keep it simple but somehow i wanna give all my best in everything i do..(COMMITMENT)!! and i hope you can give me your full support so that i will never give up in my life.

i think i already fall in love with electronic system engineering.. even its not in my list..
:D
ssshhh. dont tell anyone ya ~

Thats all for now, thanks for reading my blog . will meet later A.S.A.P
haha..
